Overview

SURASA Restaurant, nestled on Jl Sedayu City Boulevard Selatan in East Jakarta, offers an inviting space that blends comfort with a touch of Indonesian warmth. Its location within a bustling urban environment makes it a convenient stop for families and food enthusiasts looking for authentic local flavors in a relaxed setting.

The highlight of SURASA lies in its rich menu that brings traditional Indonesian dishes to the forefront. Signature offerings like Ayam Taliwang, Bebek Goreng, and Ayam Bakar Madu showcase deep, savory layers of spice and smokiness typical of regional cuisine. Complementing these are textures and flavors found in specialties such as Tahu Telur Tower and Tempe Mendoan, which deliver both a crispy bite and hearty satisfaction.

Regulars commend the restaurant's ability to balance a warm atmosphere with a family-friendly layout, making it accommodating for gatherings of all sizes. The attentive service provided enhances the overall experience, fostering a sense of familiarity and swift hospitality that guests appreciate.

Customer feedback paints a mostly positive picture: many praise the vibrant flavors of dishes like Gurame Bakar and the aromatic complexity of the Ayam Goreng, which stand out for their authentic seasoning and careful preparation. However, occasional critiques mention inconsistencies, such as tougher cuts in some meat dishes and portion sizes of beverages that could be more generous.

The culinary journey at SURASA marries tradition with a welcoming dining environment, tailored especially for those who seek comfort through familiar tastes and communal dining. It serves as a vibrant hub where Jakarta’s local food culture is both celebrated and shared across tables filled with family and friends.

We have tried Bebek Madura Sinjay with Nasi Uduk, Ayam Bakar Taliwang with Nasi Liwet, Nasi Campur Ampera Bebek Komplit, Sop Buntut Bakar (the highlight menu from me) and Tempe Mendoan. For me as a typical of act of service person, their have nice team and is very good. The ambience is very good too! Good job

The restaurant is located at Sedayu City and it has a really nice decor as well as comfortable seating area. Unfortunately, food quality wasn’t what I had hoped for. Iga bakar was tough, very difficult to slice and chew. Bunga pepaya kecombrang which was supposed to be their siganature vegetable dish fell a little flat. Drinks (ice tea and kelapa jeruk) came in small glasses and we were ready to ask for seconds because we were still thirsty but decided to get something else after we left haha.

The food is surprisingly amazing and delicious! I ordered "nasi campur with fried duck" and lemongrass tea. The price is reasonable, the ambiance is relaxing, they also have a prayer corner on the 3rd floor for muslims performing shalat. The service was friendly and swift! I definitely will get back to this restaurant for a gathering with friends and family.

Surasa in Sedayu is an absolute gem for anyone craving delicious, authentic Indonesian food. The flavors are bold, rich, and satisfying—clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Highly recommend trying the iga and bebek—tender, flavorful, and unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. Another standout is the crispy chicken skin—perfectly seasoned and dangerously addictive! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Surasa is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back for sure!
